We’ve got a lot of things to say about the Allen Community Center, we’ll let the pictures do the talking. If you’re a boarder you know what it’s all about, and if you’re a boarder’s owner, or looking to board a pet, or just a casual boarder looking for fun activities, get out there and check it out!

You may have seen us before - in the paper, on Facebook, on TV - we're out, about and in the news. We're Allen Community Center, on the north end of town near the Allen County Frgrounds. We've been a part of Allen for over 30 years.

We're the place to go to eat healthy, hang out and relax. We have a brand new look for our Mn Dining Room, featuring new tile, carpet and pnt, and it's as fun to be inside as out. We have live music, local art, great deals and specials, and so much more! Come see us.

All of our rooms can be reserved, but it's a first-come-first-served basis. We also welcome pets of all sizes. Boarding is avlable for $17 per night, which includes a $5 non-refundable deposit and one complimentary full-service bath. There's parking for up to 6 vehicles in the front of the building and around the back near the tennis courts.

Check us out on our website, Facebook, Twitter, or on the map for a list of current hours, and of course, a list of upcoming special events.

We hope to see you soon, and look forward to being in your corner.

Our Motto: "Eat and Be Well!"

Our Mission: "To serve as a community gathering place for health and wellness."

Our Vision: "Our community is healthy, wise, and connected. We are connected to food, to our community, to each other, and to our world."

About us: We are a group of folks, including a Registered Dietitian, who decided we wanted to create an atmosphere where we could come together and support each other in living and mntning a healthy lifestyle. We're here to help. We all have busy lives and no one really has time for the gym, or to cook healthy meals, but we do want to make it possible for everyone in the neighborhood to benefit from good nutrition and physical activity. Our philosophy is that there is always room for improvement. We welcome your ideas. We're all in this together.

Our Philosophy: Everyone is different, so the key is understanding your personal goals and working toward your personal best. We believe the best results happen when you have a plan, and you follow through, and when you're realistic with yourself, so that your hard work can be rewarded. Whether it's eating healthy, going to the gym, reading, learning, or having fun, we want to be a place to explore and learn and connect and grow.

Our Goals:

To help our neighbors to live a healthier lifestyle and to inspire others to do the same.

To create a beautiful space where neighbors can learn, connect, and connect to our beautiful food and natural surroundings.

To create a community where food is healthy and affordable for all and where everyone can take pride in it.

To foster healthy physical activity in our neighborhood, and to do it all in the name of fun and adventure.

Our Vision:

To create a welcoming place where everyone feels they belong, including people who don't know each other, and regardless of their background, cultural or physical challenges.

To establish a neighborhood community garden in support of healthy and environmentally sound practices, and to bring in local growers to offer fresh and flavorful vegetables and herbs and to sell them on a limited basis.

To help neighbors take advantage of the fresh r, the sunshine, and the fresh local foods by providing classes and events in nutrition, gardening, and environmental awareness and education.

To grow by example, to be an example, to inspire others to be an example, and to be the example that changes the world.

We are currently looking to get the garden going, and for some of us to do a lot more of the gardening and some of us to learn to cook and help others learn to cook. You are welcome to join us in your kitchen, as a volunteer, a cook, or just a neighbor with your own garden (or no garden!) or to learn to cook. Or you may want to come and learn to garden. Please send us an eml at [email protected] if you're interested.

The garden is located on the triangle's southeastern corner in the large yard, next to the old brick schoolhouse on Waverly, at the bottom of Washington street. In order to grow as many foods as we can, the garden has been given generous soil with a deep layer of mulch and lots of room to grow. We have established a small lawn as a lawn-to-garden transition area. We will be sharing the garden for the fall and winter growing season and hopefully for the spring growing season as well. We look forward to welcoming you to The Community Garden and to this new adventure in the community.
